The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) recently awarded Honorary Membership to Peter Caplehorn who has worked with and supported the Institute for a number of years.
Honorary Membership is the highest honour that the Institute can bestow on an individual for their work of distinction or outstanding service to the Institute; and is only awarded to exceptional individuals. Peter is the 26th recipient.
Peter is the Policy Director and Deputy Chief Executive of the Construction Products Association, where he leads the work to ensure that the UK and EU policy and regulatory framework – particularly for technical and sustainability issues – supports a growing and profitable UK construction products industry. He was formerly Technical Director at the award-winning design practice Scott Brownrigg.
On receiving his Award, Peter said: “I am unbelievably delighted and honoured — I’ve been working with a family all these years — CIAT is a family of professionals. It is that thread which runs through everyone you meet — always the characteristic is friendship first and then professionalism — the real stand point that CIAT has as its foundation.”
Chief Executive, Francesca Berriman MBE HonDTech said: “The Institute is very proud to have Peter as an Honorary Member. Peter values the skills of Chartered Architectural Technologists and has actively promoted and supported CIAT in many areas, as a keen supporter and promoter of our discipline.”
