The Virgin STRIVE Challenge is a mass participation, ultra-endurance event taking place between 7th August and 6th September 2014 to raise money for Big Change. Causeway is proud to confirm its role as sponsor and Live Tracking Partner for the event, enabling friends, family and other supporters to track the progress of participants along the route.
The event is being run by and will be raising money for Big Change, a charity founded by six friends including Sam Branson, Holly Branson and Princess Beatrice of York. Big Change is dedicated to improving the lives of young people in the UK and the money raised by the event will support a number of different projects working with young people to develop the crucial life skills they need to become happy, healthy and confident adults – Life Skills like teamwork, communication and resilience
“The aims of STRIVE have strong synergies with our own Causeway Foundation, so when the team at the Big Change asked Causeway to be Live Tracking Partner, using our Telematics tracking to provide live location data, accessed through our LiveStax interface, we were delighted to get involved,” said Causeway CEO Phil Brown.
The Virgin STRIVE Challenge is the brainchild of Sam Branson and Noah Devereux, and will see a team of eleven individuals run three back-to-back marathons, row the English Channel, cycle through France, hike to Zermatt and finally climb the Matterhorn. The core team is made up of:
• Sam Branson
• Noah Devereux
• Richard Reed (Innocent co-founder)
• Fiona Waller (Trans-Atlantic and Indian Ocean Rower)
• Marion Bartoli (Professional tennis player and winner of Wimbledon 2013)
• Justin Packshaw (Adventurer)
Hundreds of others will join them along the way and other participants who will be joining the core team for a section of the challenge, include Sir Richard Branson, Ade Adepitan and comedian Jack Whitehall.
The STRIVE Challenge is running until 4th September.
