Sapphire Systems acquires SAP Business One Apparel and Footwear ERP Partner

Sapphire Systems plc, a leading global enterprise software VAR and software developer, announced the acquisition of the SAP Apparel & Footwear division of Argentinian-based, Argentis Consulting.

Under the terms of the agreement, Sapphire Systems will acquire and invest in Argentis’s SAP Business One Apparel & Footwear business and all its software related products.

Sapphire works with leading enterprise software vendors and focuses on delivering enterprise resource planning (ERP) and financial management software (FMS) solutions to small and medium-sized businesses. By adding Argentis’s SAP-related apparel & footwear related products to its portfolio, Sapphire is able to further extend its fashion industry capabilities and will help expand Argentis’s global footprint. Both Sapphire and Argentis’s SAP-related apparel & footwear business will operate as separate entities.

“Sapphire continues to build upon its vertical market expertise by partnering with industry leading software providers that enable us to deliver solutions based on deep understanding of the industry requirements” said Ian Caswell, Sapphire’s chief executive officer. “Argentis’s footwear & apparel product suite is widely-known and well respected throughout the SAP ecosystem and has been serving the fashion industry for nearly two decades. The combined companies will continue to support existing customers and partners. We plan to increase the levels of investment to enhance the product suite and long-term innovation as the markets move further towards cloud consumption of business software. Furthermore, we consider ourselves to be ideally positioned in order to enter new markets in the very near future”.

Argentis operates with partners in 25 countries delivering its industry leading Apparel and Footwear solution in conjunction with SAP Business One. Hector Ritondale, Argentis’s Customer Services Director, commented: “We felt it was imperative to join forces with Sapphire and be part of a much larger organisation to satisfy our growth plans. Emphasis will also be placed on increasing our existing re-seller partner network to widen our global reach.”

Ritondale added: “Our Apparel & Footwear industry solutions have been hugely successful and the additional investment and expertise that the Sapphire deal brings us will contribute towards accelerating our product development plans and grow commercial sales. We are extremely excited to begin the next chapter of our company’s journey.”

The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
